COLOR COATING
Conditions of Sale, Quality Control, and Color Coating Quality
Thank you for choosing JIBBIJUG! Please read these terms before ordering from our website, www.jibbijug.com.au. This page explains the conditions for purchasing our products. By using our site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, you won’t be able to buy from us.
Important Notes:
-
Welding Mark: You may see a welding mark inside the jug’s handle. This mark is normal and is there to make the handle stronger. It won’t rust.
-
Handle Alignment: We allow small variations in handle alignment (1-2mm). This is carefully monitored during production and won’t affect how well the jug pours. This flexibility helps us maintain quality while ensuring a sturdy product.
-
Surface Scratches: During polishing or coating, the jug might get minor scratches from touching other objects. While we check each jug, we can’t promise that they will all be completely scratch-free. This approach helps us prioritize making high-quality products.
-
Electroplating Marks: When the jug is electroplated, it’s dipped into a solution while attached to a fine wire. This can leave tiny wire marks inside the jug, which are normal and won’t affect how it works.
-
Design Considerations: Our jugs are lightweight and designed for latte art, which may lead to some minor scratches and lines. While we inspect each jug, some imperfections might remain due to this design focus.
-
Surface Lines: The lines on the stainless steel are due to the difficulty in achieving a deep polish. Trying to polish too much can damage other parts of the jug, so we accept this as part of the production process. The color coating won’t hide these lines, so please keep this in mind before purchasing.
-
Color Coating Agreement: By buying a jug with color coating, you accept that exterior scratches and wire marks inside are normal and not defects. All plated items will eventually tarnish with use.
-
No Warranty for Color Coating: We don’t offer a warranty for the color coating once it has been used, as it may peel, flake, or lose its non-stick quality over time. It can also be hard to tell if the jug was used properly or misused. At JIBBIJUG, we are committed to high standards in our production and use of high-quality stainless steel (grade 304).
-
Defective Products: If you receive a jug with major defects in the coating (excluding minor scratches), please contact us for a replacement before using it. We want to ensure you’re satisfied with your purchase and uphold our commitment to quality.
The reason we can’t achieve a perfect finish on our jugs is due to the nature of the materials and the processes involved in making them. This includes creating the body, handle, color coating, and laser engraving of the logo.
-
All JIBBIJUGs are made from high-quality 304-grade stainless steel, and we apply color coating to enhance their appearance. However, there may be slight color variations in some areas, and in rare cases, you might find tiny soft spots on the metal. These differences can result from the color schemes, coating methods, and surface treatments used.
-
The jugs are produced using molds and machines that bend sheet metal, requiring extensive processing. After this, they are sent to different factories for coating and engraving. During these processes, the metal might come into contact with other objects, leading to minor scratches. Although we inspect each jug carefully, we can’t guarantee that every one will be completely scratch-free.
-
The lightweight stainless steel we use (0.6-0.7 mm thick) is designed for optimal latte art performance, but this thinness can also lead to minor scratches or lines. Even though each jug is thoroughly checked, some imperfections might still be present because of this design choice.
-
Rest assured, your jug will still perform well, and any scratches won’t affect your latte art or milk frothing. With regular use and cleaning, you may notice new scratches and fingerprints appearing over time.
At JIBBIJUG, we provide color coating for just $10 more than our non-coated jugs. Here’s why:
-
Coating Application: The color coating is specifically designed for the exterior of the jug. Occasionally, it may also appear on the inside, but this is unintentional.
-
Internal Markings: During the electroplating process, the inside of the jug may show wire markings, light haze, fine scratches, or small spots. These are typical for any jug that undergoes electroplating and are not considered defects.
-
Quality Assessment: It’s important to understand that the quality of the coating should not be judged by the internal markings. These markings are part of the electroplating process used to authenticate the jug, ensuring that it is genuine and not counterfeit.
-
Normal Production Process: The wire markings you see on the inside result from the jug being attached to a fine wire during the electroplating process. This method is necessary to submerge the jug into the coating solution. These markings vary from jug to jug and are a natural outcome of the process, not a sign of inferior quality.
-
Quality Control: Rest assured that all jugs are thoroughly inspected by our team before shipping to ensure they meet our high standards.
Blue Matt/Purple Matt Color Coating Issues
-
Discoloration on the Belly Part:
-
The belly shape of the jug requires stretching during production, leading to an uneven surface and color appearance. This issue is specific to the Matt Blue color; other colors are unaffected.
-
-
Light Blue Appearance:
-
During the color spraying process, the jug rotates, which can cause areas of Light Blue to appear. This is normal for the Blue Matt Electric coating and not considered a defect.
-
-
Fingerprint Attraction:
-
The matte or bush coating can easily show greasy fingerprints, which may darken the color after use. This is not a defect and can be easily cleaned with a glass spray and a microfiber cloth.
-
Rose Gold Color Coating
-
Copper Oxidation:
-
The Rose Gold color contains more copper, which can oxidize over time. Marks, stains, or tarnishes may appear on the surface, but these are not defects and do not indicate a used jug. All plated items will tarnish with regular use.

Product Recommendations
-
For Best Finish: The 600ml series (Musketeer, Ironman, Shogun) is recommended for a better finish.
-
For 380ml Series: Kung Fu or Ninja are suggested due to superior material quality.
-
Caution on 420ml Series: Avoid the 420ml series or Ronin if you’re looking for a flawless finish, as these may have more factory marks due to thinner material.
WHAT IS ELECTROPLATING?
-
Electroplating is a process that involves the use of an electric current to deposit a thin layer of metal onto the surface of a substrate. To perform electroplating, the plating metal is attached to the anode, which is the positively charged electrode, and the substrate is attached to the cathode, which is the negatively charged electrode, in an electrical circuit. Both are then submerged in a plating bath, which is a special electrolytic solution. During this process, wire marking can occur.
-
After immersing the parts in the plating bath, an electric current is supplied to the anode. This current oxidizes and dissolves the metal atoms of the plating metal into the electrolytic solution. The dissolved metal ions are reduced at the cathode and deposited onto the substrate. Various factors can be adjusted to control the outcome of the process, such as the chemical composition of the bath, temperature, voltage level, duration of current application, and distance between the anode and cathode.
-
Over time, the color of the electroplated metal can wear off due to regular use, although the rate of tarnish can vary greatly depending on the piece.

Overall, Teflon is a material commonly used as a non-stick coating on cookware. While it can develop scrapes and scratches over time, it can last for years if not misused or exposed to direct steam. However, nonstick jugs do not last forever, and reapplication of Teflon coating may be necessary at some point.
-
At JIBBIJUG MILKPITCHER, we take the highest care in ensuring the quality of our Teflon coatings, but we do not provide exchange, refund, or returns for damages caused by normal or misused usage.
Why doesn't stainless steel rust?
-
Stainless steel remains stainless and does not rust because it is sufficiently reactive to protect itself from further corrosion by forming a passive layer of corrosion product.
-
Please note that if you receive a jug with brownish stains inside, it is not rust but rather residue staining that may occur in certain conditions such as storage environment, temperature changes, heat, moisture or usage. Fortunately, stainless steel is easy to maintain. Simply clean it with a sponge or follow the instructions below.
COLOR / WASH & CARE
How to clean the interior and Exterior of JIBBIJUG
-
Interior: Clean With Citric Acid
-
T o remove milk stains and dirt deposits from the interior of your JIBBIJUG , begin by filling it with hot water. Add one teaspoon of citric acid or double-strength vinegar to the water, and let it soak for several minutes.
-
For persistent stains, create a paste of vinegar and baking soda and use it to scrub the interior of the jug. Rinse thoroughly with hot water.
-
-
Exterior: Water and Acetic Acid (Vinegar)
-
To clean the exterior of your JIBBIJUG, mix a solution of water and vinegar in a spray bottle (using a ratio of 50:20). Spray the solution onto the stainless-steel surface and wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth in the same direction of the grain. This will effectively remove any dust or fingerprint smudges on the jug's surface.
-
Do WASH & CARE
-
Not dishwasher proof.
-
Hand wash only.
-
Not resistant to chemicals and color retention.
For cleaning and stain removal:
-
Soak the jug in citric acid, vinegar, or baking soda to remove stains. If using Caffeto "Coffee Machine Cleaning Powder," supervise soaking time and limit it to less than 10 minutes to prevent color damage.
-
For greasy fingerprints or dust, use glass cleaner spray and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
Don’ts of Cleaning Stainless Steel
-
Do not use steel wool or brushes as they will scratch the surface of the stainless steel and make it susceptible to rusting and staining.
-
Abrasive cleaners can scratch the surface and dull the finish.
-
Bleach and cleaners with chlorine can stain and damage stainless steel.
-
Do not leave cleaning solution residues or dirty water to dry on the stainless steel as it can create a dull finish and cause permanent stains.
-
Do not place the jug close to heat sources or acidic cleaning products.
TIPS:
-
Do not dry your jugs upside down. In conditions with less air and higher moisture and heat, this can cause residue stains on the corners of the jug. So, it's best to let it dry in the open air.
Why is my stainless steel turning black?
-
Stainless steel is a popular material because it doesn't corrode or break down easily like other metals. However, stainless steel can develop rust spots and damage occurs due to improper maintenance, misuse, harsh chemicals, cleaning in the dishwasher, or using it for hot water or acidic cleaning products, and having scratches on its surface that trap moisture under the metal.
We do not offer any warranty for the color coating after it has been used. Any coating will eventually peel and flake, and its non-stick properties will not last longer. It is also difficult to tell if you have used the jug in the proper condition or not. But we at JIBBIJUG are committed to maintaining the highest standards in production methods and the quality of our stainless steel 304 grade.

ALIGNMENT & FAULTY &QUALITY CONTROL
We are well aware that every customer wants their milk jug purchase to have the perfect alignment between spout and handle and all other parts of the jug. This is an integral part of our design goals and vision. To creating a high-quality product we have developed and implemented proper quality control to ensure best practices throughout the manufacturing process.
Alignment
-
As the jugs are made of stainless steel, they have inherent strength, and each part of the production process establishes ongoing tolerance and variances. We monitor and test them to ensure that they remain within acceptable levels of tolerance.
-
We understand that every customer may have different ideas and methods to check alignment or any other aspects of the milk jug. However, at JIBBIJUG, we use the Paper Metric Scale method to indicate the tolerances in metric units. We believe that the Paper Metric Scale is the most reliable way to check and ensure that the alignment of our jugs remains within acceptable and desired tolerance ranges, rather than judging by visual appearance, which may lead to incorrect assumptions.
-
Since 2018, we have been using a "MOLD POSITION" to ensure accurate alignment of our handles. This means that you can be assured that our alignment is near perfect or within an acceptable tolerance.
-
Upon completion of manufacturing, we will position the jug upside down to ensure that the tip of the spout is positioned at the midpoint of the scale. We will then align the rim of the jug both left and right until it meets the same number on the scale. Finally, we will check the handle placement to ensure that it aligns within the scale measurement.
-
However, there may be slight tolerances due to the natural tenacity of the materials, resulting in small yet acceptable variations between the jugs during the production process with a tolerance range of 1-2mm.
-
We guarantee individual checks before packing, quality control, and strict adherence to our standards for all JIBBIJUG products at the warehouse. This includes every aspect of the final product such as finish, color, and alignment.
Please choose carefully as we do not offer any refunds on purchases made unless the product is damaged during transit. We carefully inspect all jugs before shipping them to you, with a 1-2mm tolerance allowed in the production process and in our color coating conditions.
Handles laser:
-
They are made using a laser beam to weld metals together. We fix one side first and then laser the other side, which allows for some tolerance between the two sides of the handle. Thus, our handles have a 1-2mm tolerance.
-
Our jugs are meticulously crafted with great attention to quality control. While the handles may not be identical from jug to jug due to the assembly technique providing some tolerance between the two sides of the handle, please be assured that this does not affect the pour or pouring technique.
Factory Marks: (Scratches on the inside of the jug)
-
We take great care to produce each milk pitcher to exacting standards; however, we cannot guarantee the absence of blemishes (material marks inside the milk pitcher) that may result from the internal polishing process or sometimes occur during the molding process.
-
Rest assured, the Jibbi jug is designed to assist with milk pouring and latte art, and minor blemishes resulting from standard polishing do not affect its intended purpose.
-
We understand that you may be concerned that scratches or laser marks could cause contamination. However, we are confident that such marks are purely cosmetic and not toxic.
-
Heat marks may be more visible on the 420ml series due to its material composition. Testing without the marks could result in the handle falling off. The 380ml, 400ml, and 600ml series will exhibit fewer visible marks due to their materials.
